HANOVER, PA. – September 14, 2026 – Alex’s Autoworks, a Hanover, PA auto repair shop known for its European vehicle expertise alongside domestic and Asian service work, is highlighting how its Digital Vehicle Inspection process supports transparent auto repair for local drivers. As summer driving picks up, the shop wants Hanover residents to understand exactly what their vehicle needs before a road trip, not be surprised by it.
Every vehicle that comes through Alex’s Autoworks receives a multi-point inspection, and the results are documented in a Digital Vehicle Inspection complete with photos. Instead of asking customers to take a technician’s word for it, the DVI lets drivers see what the technician sees, from tire tread to fluid levels, right from their phone or computer. Customers can review each item, ask questions, and decide for themselves which recommended services to approve.

The process reflects the philosophy Alexander Long built the shop on. After years working at dealerships and later at an independent shop, Long opened Alex’s Autoworks in May 2018 to give Hanover drivers a more honest, personal alternative. “We catch the things that should be obvious to other people, and we’re thorough,” Long said. “We do the best job we can and take care of the customer the way we would want to be taken care of. We make things right and do the right things.”
That commitment is backed by a team of ASE-certified technicians and shop equipment including a Hunter alignment machine, Ford IDS, GM Techline, Snap-On, and Autel scan tools. Together, they allow Alex’s Autoworks to handle vehicle diagnostics and repair across a wide range of makes and models, with particular depth in European vehicles whose owners often drive well past Hanover to reach the nearest dealership.
During a summer car inspection, common findings documented on a Digital Vehicle Inspection include worn brake pads, aging tires, low A/C refrigerant, and cooling system components working harder in the heat. Seeing these details in photos, rather than hearing about them secondhand, helps Hanover drivers understand what their vehicle actually needs before a long trip, and what can wait.
Alex’s Autoworks backs its repairs with a two-year, 24,000-mile warranty and holds itself to values of integrity, consumer trust, commitment, reputation, consumer safety, transparency, and quality work. The shop is also active in the Hanover community, supporting the Conemaugh Valley School District’s athletic programs, including football, basketball, and dance. For Long, the Digital Vehicle Inspection is simply an extension of those values, giving customers the same information the technician has so they can make their own call.
