24th CIEME in Shenyang Showcases Intelligent Equipment & Smart Manufacturing Innovations

SHENYANG, China, Sept. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — On September 1, the 3rd Shenyang Manufacturing Industry Economic and Trade Week and the 24th China International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition (CIEME) kicked off in Shenyang. A thousand enterprises or so gathered here to unveil their cutting-edge intelligent equipment and scientific-and-technological innovations, amid attempts to thoroughly embody the achievements Shenyang’s manufacturing had attained in digitalization and high-quality development.
Centered on the theme of “New Smart Equipment · New Quality Productivity”, this session of CIEME covered an exhibition area of 100,000 square meters with 12 specialized exhibition zones. Altogether, it attracted over 1,000 domestic and overseas enterprises. For the first time, the expo set up a dedicated exhibition zone for embodied intelligence to display intelligent robot products for diverse scenarios including industrial inspection, emergency rescue, security-related scientific research, healthcare and elderly care, and household services, which intuitively demonstrated the strong momentum of AI empowering the real economy and driving industrial upgrading.
Bringing together high-quality achievements from all districts and counties of the city, as well as innovative products from leading enterprises including AVIC Shenyang Aircraft Co., Ltd., Shenyang Blower Works (Group) Co., Ltd., Northern Heavy Industries Group Co., Ltd., Unitree Robotics, and Lenovo, the expo exhibited the strength of local smart manufacturing in Shenyang and burnished the well-renowned brand of “Made in Shenyang”.
Dadong District showcased the Geely Galaxy Xingyao 6 methanol-powered electric vehicle. Capable of withstanding extreme operating condition of -40℃, the vehicle costs less than 0.2 yuan per kilometer for travel. It has rolled off the production line at Shenyang’s smart factory, helping Shenyang build an industrial hub for methanol-fueled electric vehicles in northern China and accelerating the shift between old and new driving forces in the automobile industry.
Yuhong District gave a high-profile presentation on the development achievements of Yong’an Machine Tool Town, a national model dedicated to pillar industries including special-purpose CNC machine tools, aviation equipment and auto parts. Meanwhile, home-grown high-end CNC machine tools, precision grinding-and-polishing equipment, and laser welding-cutting robots made their debut to fully reveal the unmatched heritage of Shenyang’s high-end manufacturing sector.
This session of CIEME features both the depth of industry and the care for people’s livelihood. Products centering on scenarios for special-needs groups and household life, such as AI-powered electronic guide dogs, intelligent bionic hands, fall-alert robots for the elderly, smart rehabilitation equipment and interactive smart-home devices, were all on display. Efforts like this were made to bring cutting-edge smart manufacturing technologies out of workshops to serve people’s livelihoods.
From a national pillar to a hub of livelihood-oriented science and technology, Shenyang is leveraging the new-quality productivity to fuel the revitalization of its time-honored industrial base, and continuously burnishing its reputation as Northeast China’s core city for smart manufacturing.
