Tuck-In Acquisition Adds Several Hundred Residential Accounts to Ecowaste’s Existing Mount Vernon, Texas Service Area

COPPELL, TX, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Ecowaste Solutions, a regional waste and recycling company operating across ten states, announced today the acquisition of Compass Waste, a tuck-in to the company’s existing Mount Vernon, Texas service area. Mount Vernon, the Franklin County seat, is anchored by a historic downtown square and sits minutes from Lake Cypress Springs, one of the area’s most popular recreational destinations.

Compass Waste was built by owner Barry Weaver, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the waste management industry, spanning hauling and collection, regulatory compliance, and landfill operations throughout the South.

“Barry built something families in Mount Vernon came to count on: straightforward, dependable service,” said Chief Executive Officer Dustin Reynolds. “That kind of trust takes years to earn, and we’re taking on these accounts with real respect for the work it took to build them.”

Reynolds added that folding the accounts into an existing Ecowaste operation means minimal disruption for customers. “We already have a great team on the ground in Mount Vernon. These households will see the same reliable service they’re used to, now backed by the resources of a regional operator.”

Barry is staying on with Ecowaste following the close to help guide the transition, a structure the company builds into many of its acquisitions. Reynolds said keeping founders and owner-operators involved after a deal closes is central to how Ecowaste approaches growth. “The entrepreneurs who build these businesses know things about their customers and their routes that we can’t learn from a spreadsheet,” Reynolds said. “Keeping Barry in the picture means we don’t lose that. It’s part of why our acquisitions tend to work: we’re not just buying accounts, we’re bringing entrepreneurial operators into a bigger platform.”

The Compass Waste tuck-in reflects Ecowaste’s broader approach to growth in Texas. The Dallas-Fort Worth region is one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country, a dynamic that is generating organic growth for Ecowaste’s existing operations while also creating a steady pipeline of independent, family-owned haulers looking for a partner with the scale to keep investing in their communities. Compass Waste is the latest example of that platform strategy in action: acquire well-run local operators, retain the people and relationships that built them, and put the resources of a regional operator behind markets already primed for growth.

Compass Waste joins a growing list of tuck-ins built the same way, including the County Trash Service acquisition in North Texas and the Baker Trash acquisition in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Each one folds into a market Ecowaste already knows by name, which is the idea behind the company’s tagline, “The strength of a region. The heart of a neighbor.” Getting bigger as a company should never mean getting more distant from the people it serves.
