Banesco USA Names Teresa Stinson to Board of Directors and David K. Moore Tampa Bay Market Executive
Stinson brings more than 25 years of experience in commercial banking, corporate finance and credit oversight, with deep expertise in credit underwriting, risk management and corporate banking leadership.
“Teresa joins the organization during an exciting phase of growth and expansion, bringing deep credit underwriting expertise, a disciplined approach to risk management, and deep cultural alignment with Banesco’s and community values,” said Carlos Palomares, Chairman of the Board of Banesco USA. “She is a Qualified Financial Expert under SEC guidelines that adds to the value she brings to our organization.”
Throughout her career, Stinson has held senior leadership positions at leading financial institutions. Most recently, she served as Executive Vice President and Executive Managing Director of Florida Corporate Banking at Cadence Bank, where she built the Florida corporate banking platform from its inception into the most profitable division within the corporate bank, ultimately overseeing more than $2 billion in assets. Prior to Cadence Bank, she held leadership positions at Bank of America and Wells Fargo, where she led large-scale corporate lending teams and managed complex portfolio and P&L responsibilities.
David Moore joins Banesco to lead the bank’s growing Tampa Bay market, bringing more than 30 years of experience in community banking and executive leadership. As Senior Vice President and Tampa Bay Market Executive, Moore will oversee the bank’s commercial banking team and will be responsible for implementing strategies to drive growth and build strong client relationships within the region.
Moore has held executive roles including CEO, President and COO across regional and community financial institutions. He has led enterprise operations, launched de novo markets, built high-performing commercial banking teams and driven loan and deposit growth across Tampa Bay, the I-4 Corridor and West Coast Florida. His experience spans commercial, middle-market and SBA banking, as well as credit, finance, commercial real estate and treasury management services.
The appointments come as Banesco continues to deepen its presence in the Tampa Bay region. Following its recent SBA business acquisition, the bank has expanded its SBA lending capabilities and established a stronger presence across Greater Tampa Bay, strengthening its ability to serve businesses throughout Florida and nationwide.
The bank’s growing presence in the Tampa Bay region also has a personal connection to its leadership. Calixto “Cali” García-Vélez, President and CEO of Banesco USA, has family roots in Tampa’s historic Ybor City, further connecting the bank’s Florida growth strategy to a community with longstanding cultural and entrepreneurial ties.
“Teresa and David each bring deep market knowledge, leadership and strong community connections in the Tampa market as we continue to expand our capabilities across Florida,” said Calixto “Cali” García-Vélez, President and CEO of Banesco USA. “Their experience will further strengthen our ability to serve businesses and communities in the Tampa Bay region and across the markets we serve.”
Stinson has served on several prominent nonprofit and community boards, including the MIT Leadership Center Advisory Board, University of Tampa Board of Trustees and Tampa Museum of Art Foundation Board. She is also the founder and past president of Voices for Children of Tampa Bay. She holds a Master of Business Administration and Sustainability Certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida.
An active community leader, Moore serves as a Commercial Banking Industry Advisor for the University of Florida Warrington College of Business. He has served on the boards of the Tampa Bay History Center, American Heart Association of Greater Tampa Bay, United Way and Northeast Little League. Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Florida and completed The Executive Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. He is currently completing a Master of Science degree in Entrepreneurship at the University of Florida.
