Aurora Innovation, Inc. (NASDAQ: AUR) today announced its third quarter 2026 results. Aurora’s shareholder letter and financial results are available on its investor relations website at ir.aurora.tech.

“We have reached a defining inflection point for our business and our industry,” said Chris Urmson, co-founder and CEO of Aurora. “The Aurora Driver is hauling freight for major carriers with nobody behind the wheel, our assembly lines are ramping, and our OEM and Tier 1 partners are preparing for high-volume production. We’ve built an ecosystem designed to put tens of thousands of trucks on the road by the end of the decade.”

Business Highlights

  • Expanding Customer Commitment: Charger Logistics signed a memorandum of understanding to own and operate 500 Aurora Driver-powered trucks under Aurora’s Driver as a Service (DaaS) model, with deliveries expected in 2027 and 2028. The non-binding MOU builds on Charger’s initial agreement with Aurora in July. Additional Aurora customers are pursuing DaaS agreements, reflecting growing demand.

  • Growing Driverless Fleet: Aurora has 20+ driverless trucks already built and coming into the fleet. Together with its upfitting partner Roush, Aurora is building toward an annualized capacity of more than 1,000 trucks and expects to reach 20 trucks per week in early December, with room to scale further. In parallel, Aurora and Volvo are integrating the Aurora Driver directly on Volvo’s factory line while preparing for full OEM industrialization with Volvo and PACCAR.

  • Regulatory Tailwinds: The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration granted Aurora and the industry an important, five-year exemption, permitting driverless trucks to use cab-mounted warning beacons in place of traditional, manually-placed roadside warning devices when a commercial motor vehicle is stopped. By successfully demonstrating that its warning beacon technology would likely achieve a level of safety equivalent to or greater than legacy requirements, Aurora’s leadership in working with federal regulators has cleared the way for driverless freight at scale for the industry.

  • Strong Balance Sheet: Aurora ended the third quarter with more than $1 billion in cash and short-term investments.

The company will host a business review conference call today, October 28, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. The conference call will be webcast on Aurora’s investor relations website at ir.aurora.tech, and an accompanying presentation has also been posted to the website. A replay of the webcast will be available for 30 days following the call.
