KnowledgeLake, a leader in AI-powered document automation, today announced it has been named a Disruptor in the 2026 Infosource Global Capture & IDP Vendor Matrix. The annual matrix from Infosource, an independent research firm covering the capture and intelligent document processing (IDP) market, evaluates vendors on two dimensions: strategy and capabilities, as well as execution in the market.

Infosource’s matrix report describes KnowledgeLake as “a Capture & IDP SaaS pioneer that has expanded its platform” through the addition of RPA, content management, and workflow technology on top of its core capture and IDP capabilities. The company brings these offerings to market through two products: the KnowledgeLake Platform for enterprise and government customers, and DocumentOS, a bundle built for business process outsourcers (BPOs) that includes professional services and metrics reporting.

“KnowledgeLake is an innovative software vendor whose development has tracked well with the direction of the market,” said Ralph Gammon, Senior Analyst at Infosource. “The company offers proven and mature document processing technology complemented by a platform for end-to-end agentic automation. The recent investment by Edison Partners should enable KnowledgeLake to broaden its market penetration and scale its sales and marketing efforts to match the scalability of its SaaS platform.”

The report points to several factors behind KnowledgeLake’s high strategy and capabilities ranking, including its end-to-end automation suite, its 100 percent SaaS architecture built on Microsoft Azure with a Kubernetes-orchestrated microservices design, and its agentic AI roadmap. That roadmap includes project-setup agents that catch onboarding issues before they become problems, exception-reduction agents, and operator-side agents built into the quality control experience, an approach Infosource describes as prioritizing bounded autonomy over black-box automation, so customers retain visibility and control.

“We’re excited to be recognized as a Disruptor in the 2026 Infosource Global Capture & IDP Vendor Matrix,” said Billy Biggs, CEO of KnowledgeLake. “We’ve built a platform that deserves a much bigger presence in this market, and now we’re putting the commercial firepower behind it. With Edison Partners, we’re accelerating investment across sales, marketing, and partnerships to dramatically expand our reach and change the competitive landscape. KnowledgeLake has been one of this market’s best-kept secrets for too long. The next chapter is about making sure the market knows exactly who we are.”

The recognition comes as KnowledgeLake works to translate its long-standing technology strength into broader market execution. Edison Partners acquired KnowledgeLake in 2025 and has since backed the company with $65 million in growth investment, part of the capital behind naming Billy Biggs CEO in 2026 to lead the company’s next growth phase, including an expansion beyond its historically direct, North America-first sales model into a broader reseller channel.
